The Beauty of Corner Stars!

Just a little appreciation post on Corner Stars! These little gems are commonly found in Victorian and Edwardian style houses, in door surrounds, vestibule doors, sash-windows and highlights/fanlights! They are usually of a contrasting colour; red or blue - and are brilliant cut or acid etched. At Aurora Glass we have yet to get our hands on a brilliant cutting machine, so we have been employing our own sandblast methodology to reproduce these stunning glass products.

This Thistle Corner Star has been made by layering stencils to mimic the cutting of the brilliant cutting wheel - We sandblast then apply a clear UV resistant lacquer.
